San Antonio International Airport (SAT) recently announced an updated Disabled Veteran & Military Plates Parking Program, which goes into effect on November 1. The program aims to provide enhanced parking benefits for military members and veterans. Military service can result in service-connected disabilities, which may impact veterans’ ability to work, perform daily activities, or secure benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). If you are a veteran, our San Antonio, TX service-connected disability lawyer can help you secure the benefits you earned through your service.
For individuals with Texas-registered Disabled Veteran (DV) or military specialty license plates who enroll in the updated parking program, privileges include complimentary parking up to 30 days in economy lots, a 50% discount in the long-term garage, a 25% discount in the short-term garage, and access to parking reservations. Purple Heart and POW parking remain complimentary.
Enrollment is required to access these privileges, and SAT offers multiple enrollment options, including completing the form online at FlySATParking.com/DV, scheduling an in-person appointment, visiting with an Airport Ambassador, or attending one of several enrollment events hosted at the SAT Parking Office. Enrollment processing takes three to five business days, and participants are advised to wait for approval before making parking reservations.
SAT’s commitment to the military community extends beyond parking. Earlier this year, the airport became the first in the country to offer expedited screening for active-duty military and their families. SAT is also expanding amenities for service members with the construction of two additional USO centers as part of the new terminal. With an estimated 156,000 veterans residing in Bexar County and more than 41,000 vehicles with Disabled Veteran plates using SAT parking facilities this year alone, the airport emphasizes clear communication, strong support, and a seamless travel experience for military travelers.
